March
/ April 2009 Editorial
Here we are at the end of the scheduled matches,
but as we all know there are several important outstanding matches to be played yet. See Alan Jones list which shows match
cards not received, if you think you have a missing entry then contact him for information.
The Cup competitions are in their final stages
and those should be played in the next few weeks. Contact Pete Green for information about the finals.
The
web site is now running well and there has been plenty of comments entered by players. Perhaps the most mentioned topic is
how often the league table information is updated. Dave Kelly is keen to get it updated more often but this involves having
a smooth chain from ‘cards received’ to ‘data arriving’ at the web site.

The transplant games at
Warwick University may be of interest, if you want to be a volunteer helper (includes
a free t-shirt!) - see last months Peeping Tom or contact Bob Montgomery.
May we wish you an enjoyable
summer rest and a final magazine will be issued just before the Annual General Meeting in June

All Team Captains
We are coming now to the overrun weeks of the season and there
are many match cards not received. This can be lost in the post, not sent or just not played. I have provided a list of those
missing match cards so that team captains can crosscheck their outstanding matches. This is in the envelope with the Peeping
Tom, please look at your division and team to see what I think is missing. Remember these matches have to be played by the
25th April.

Welcome
to 2009 and the latest table conditions and Cup Competition progress so far. All very interesting with some close results
in the 4-A-Side competition. Also the results from the recent Closed Championships. See page 12.
The
web site is now up and running. albeit with a glitch over Xmas when the site went down. That’s the problem with the
web it is a bit unpredictable at times. This is all thanks to Dave Kelly who has helped to finalise the operation following
the creation by Alex Davis.

Championships
The
Championships this year were held at the Sydenham Centre, Leamington Spa. This was to enable the event to be run on a single
venue on a single day. The event went well and a full days table tennis was had by all that attended.
The competitions were run by Alan Jones and he was very pleased with the helpers, table shifters, food providers
and the also players that made the day go well.

December Editorial
Welcome to the new season, now already several weeks old. You will find
in this issue the usual results and league tables and Huxham cup competition format. Shortly the Coventry web site (
www.Coventrytabletennis.co.uk ) will also contain up to date information on the results as they come in and are entered
on the data base. The Peeping Tom will continue to be published for those that do not have access to the web and prefer to
have a printed copy in their hand.
Teams are reminded that the entries for the 4-A-Side cup need to be returned,
as soon as possible - contact Pete Green if you are in doubt about entry or have not received entry forms.
The Coventry Closed Championships will be held on Sunday 25th January
at Sydenham Sports Centre, Leamington. This is the first time for some years that we have held the championships at a one
day venue so we hope that this will draw in some more players to the event. Alan Jones is taking entries so contact him if
you do not receive forms soon.
May the editors of the Peeping Tom wish all our readers a Merry Christmas
and a happy and successful New Year for 2009

Correspondence
This page has been set aside for letters and other input from members
of the association. At going to press there has been no communications. However, I am sure there are plenty of topics that
need to have a platform to place members views.
Coventry Website
www.coventrytabletennis.co.uk
The website launch is proving to be more difficult than expected. The
target is to have the information updated in line with the cards as entered on the database on Alan Jones’ computer,
running the ETTA Data Manager programme. The Peeping Tom will continue to be published, at intervals during the season
and will have other information as per the normal format that you have become familiar.
Postal Correspondence
The editors of Peeping Tom are always ready to include members, letters
or verbal input to go on this page. There is no reasonable limit for discussion topics and editorial screening is a minimum
- mainly to make some copy fit on the space on the page.
Come on and be brave and widen the discussion to a larger audience, make
suggestions about the Peeping Tom contents or the website detail once up and running.
